About Farpoint

Farpoint is building a modern, operationally grounded training ecosystem for remotely crewed air systems. Our work is shaped by frontline insight, rigorous standards, and a clear mission: prepare allied forces for the realities of contested airspace.

The Role

As Head of Training Design, you will own the architecture and evolution of Farpoint's full training system. You'll design the learning journey end-to-end: from objectives and course structures to instructor-led modules, digital learning, and simulation-based scenarios. You'll work closely with frontline partners, operational SMEs, and simulation engineers, turning lived experience into structured, validated, and scalable training. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is motivated by autonomy, practical problem-solving, and building a coherent training ecosystem from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and development of Farpoint's defence training curriculum for UAV/RCAS operators and command teams
  • Build durable training architecture across digital learning, instructor-led content, and synthetic/simulation environments
  • Work with simulation developers to ensure scenario fidelity, realism, and appropriate challenge
  • Engage with frontline partners to capture operational lessons and convert them into high-impact training content
  • Define learning objectives, standards, and assessment methods aligned with NATO and partner-nation expectations
  • Set, document, and maintain quality benchmarks across the training system
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to Farpoint's broader mission, culture, and training strategy as a senior technical lead

What You Bring

  • Strong background in training system design, instructional design, or defence training development
  • Experience designing blended or synthetic training programmes in high-reliability environments
  • Ability to work confidently with SMEs and translate operational detail into structured curriculum
  • Strong documentation, planning, and communication skills; effective working independently within a hybrid/remote team
  • Eligibility for security clearance up to Secret
  • Motivation to work in a mission-focused start-up where initiative, adaptability, and ownership matter

Desirable

  • Experience with UAV/RCAS training or wider aircrew training
  • Familiarity with NATO quality frameworks (e.g., STANAGs, AQAP)
  • Experience integrating simulation or synthetic training tools
  • Exposure to early-stage or small-team environments

Why Join Us

Farpoint is not a conventional defence contractor. You'll be joining a small, purposeful team shaping a modern training capability with real operational relevance. You'll have meaningful responsibility, genuine autonomy, and the ability to influence how allied forces prepare for the future fight.
